A SAPSONS Flexible Shaft Machine is an industrial tube-cleaning machine used for cleaning the inner surfaces of tubes, pipes, boilers, heat exchangers, condensers, evaporators, air heaters, and sugar-processing equipment. The machine transmits rotary power through a flexible shaft to cleaning tools such as brushes, cutters, and descaling heads, enabling effective removal of scale, deposits, and fouling from tube interiors.

The machine is designed as a portable, self-contained unit with rugged construction, making it suitable for industrial maintenance operations. It is easy to operate, requires minimal maintenance, and is built for continuous service in demanding environments.

Main Components :

1. Electric Motor – Provides rotary power for cleaning operations.
2. Flexible Shaft – Multi-layer wire core enclosed in a protective casing for transmitting torque.
3. Inner Wire Core – Multi-layer wound steel wire that transmits rotary power.
4. Outer Casing – Galvanized steel casing with anti-friction lining.
5. Handpiece – Connects the cleaning tool or brush to the shaft.
6. Motor Coupling – Connects the flexible shaft to the drive motor.
7. Tool Heads/Brushes – Used for removing soft scale, hard deposits, and blockages from tubes.

Available shaft sizes include:

• 25 mm OD with 12 mm core
• 32 mm OD with 16 mm core
• 36 mm OD with 19 mm core

Standard lengths range from 6 to 22 meters, with custom lengths available on request.

Each machine is fully wired, carefully tested and is supplied with a 20 feet long power cable .

Working Principle

The electric motor rotates the flexible shaft at high speed. The attached cleaning brush or cutter rotates inside the tube and removes deposits, scales, and blockages through mechanical action and centrifugal force. This improves heat transfer efficiency and increases equipment life.

The machine is built with rugged construction, requires low maintenance, and is easy to operate. It uses a TEFC AC motor available in 3 HP, 5 HP, and 7.5 HP models with speeds of 1440 or 2880 RPM. The flexible shaft can easily pass through straight and bend tubes without damaging the tube surface.
