Raychem Busbar Insulation Sleeve
Raychem Busbar Insulation Sleeve is a heat-shrinkable electrical insulation product designed to cover and protect energized copper or aluminium busbars. When heated, the sleeve shrinks tightly around the busbar to provide reliable insulation, improve safety, reduce the risk of flashover and accidental discharge, and enable more compact electrical equipment designs.
Description
Raychem Busbar Insulation Sleeve is a heat-shrinkable insulation tubing used to electrically insulate copper or aluminium busbars in switchgear, substations, distribution equipment, and other electrical systems. The tubing is installed over the busbar and heated so that it shrinks tightly around the bar, providing a uniform insulating layer.
The Raychem range includes products such as BBIT and BPTM, designed for different busbar dimensions and voltage classes. Depending on the product, Raychem busbar insulation tubing can provide flashover and accidentally induced discharge protection up to 72 kV.
Key Features
- Heat-shrinkable construction for close-fitting insulation.
- Suitable for copper and aluminium busbars.
- Can be used on rectangular and round busbars.
- Provides insulation enhancement and protection against flashover and accidental discharge.
- Good anti-tracking and flame-retardant properties.
- Non-halogen-based material.
- Suitable for indoor and outdoor applications, depending on the product.
- Helps reduce the required air clearance between busbars, allowing more compact switchgear designs.
Applications
