Electrical Insulating Gloves

Raychem RPG Electrical Insulating Gloves are safety gloves designed to protect workers from electric shock and arc-flash hazards while working on energized electrical equipment. They are made from high-quality insulating rubber and comply with international safety standards such as IEC 60903 and EN 60903.

Description

Raychem Electrical Insulating Gloves are specialized personal protective equipment (PPE) designed to protect electrical workers from electric shock, arc flash hazards, and accidental contact with energized equipment. These gloves are manufactured using high-quality natural rubber latex and comply with international safety standards such as IEC 60903, EN 60903, and CE Category III certifications.

Key Features :

  • High dielectric strength for protection against live voltages
  • Available in multiple insulation classes ranging from Class 00 to Class 4
  • Protection for working voltages from 500 V AC up to 36 kV AC
  • Ergonomic and flexible design for comfort and dexterity
  • Resistant to acid, ozone, oil, and low temperatures
  • Available in bi-colour design (black outer and red inner layer) for easy detection of cuts, tears, or abrasions
  • Individually tested and supplied in UV-protective packaging
  • Manufactured using advanced robotic latex dipping technology

Types of Raychem Insulating Gloves :

  1. Insulating Rubber Gloves
Designed mainly for electrical shock protection. Leather over-gloves are recommended for mechanical protection. Suitable for utilities, substations, switchgear maintenance, and industrial electrical work.
  2. Insulating Composite Gloves
Provide combined electrical, mechanical, and limited arc-flash protection in a single glove without requiring leather protectors. These gloves offer excellent grip and flexibility even in damp conditions.
  3. Arc Rated Insulating Gloves
Designed for electrical shock protection with additional resistance against arc energy generated during short circuits. These gloves are ASTM F2675 arc-flash tested.

Voltage Classification :

Class Maximum Working Voltage (AC)
Class 00 500 V
Class 0 1,000 V
Class 1 7,500 V
Class 2 17,000 V
Class 3 26,500 V
Class 4 36,000 V

Applications :

  • Electrical maintenance and repair
  • Switchgear and transformer servicing
  • Utility and power distribution work
  • Live-line maintenance
  • Industrial electrical installations
  • Arc-flash risk environments

Safety and Maintenance

  • Gloves must be inspected before every use for cuts, punctures, or tears.
  • Dielectric retesting is recommended every six months after first use.
  • Gloves should be stored in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and ozone sources.
  • Rubber insulating gloves typically require leather protector gloves for mechanical safety unless composite gloves are used.
