Bahco Hand Hacksaws
- Bahco hand hacksaws are professional cutting tools with ergonomic frames and replaceable Sandflex bi-metal blades, suitable for steel, copper, brass, aluminium, and PVC.
- They cut through material by abrasion: the toothed blade removes small amounts of material with each forward stroke.
- TPI selection: 14–18 TPI for thick/soft metals, 24 TPI for medium-duty cutting and stainless steel, and 32 TPI for thin metals and aluminium.
Description
Bahco Hand Hacksaws are professional-grade cutting tools known for high-tension frames and shatterproof Sandflex bi-metal blades. They feature ergonomic designs and alternative blade mounting options (55° or 90°) specifically for flush cutting in tight spaces. A hacksaw cuts through metal using the process of abrasion. Its fine-toothed blade scrapes away material with each forward stroke, in contrast to the tearing action of coarser saws used on materials like wood.
Function: Designed for sawing hard metals (such as steel, copper, brass, and aluminum) and plastics like PVC.
Design: Features a lightweight frame, ergonomic handle for user comfort, and replaceable toothed blades (commonly bi-metal Sandflex blades).
Selecting the Right Blade (TPI)
According to RS Components, matching the Teeth Per Inch (TPI) to the material is critical for performance
14–18 TPI: Best for thicker, softer materials like steel pipes or rods and metals like Copper and Brass.
24 TPI: The standard for medium-duty cutting, such as thin-wall electrical conduit and Stainless Steel.
32 TPI: Ideal for very thin metals and light alloys like aluminium.
